Day 10:The Operation of the Holy Spirit in our lives , 11 January

1.Baptism in the Holy spirit

  • As Apostolic Faith Mission, we believe that every believer can be baptised in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. This not a mere church tradition, but it is based on the experiences that occurred in the early church.  Acts 2:4 states that ‘ALL of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them’. Joel 2:28 says, “And afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on ALL people.”
  •  At our local church, we have had several altar calls where many people were baptised in the Holy Spirit with ...

DAY 9:Love And Unity, 10 January

Christianity is centred on love; Christ gave His life for us because He loved us. Christ left heaven to die a shameful and painful death on the cross of Calvary because He loved us.

1 John 4:8 says, ‘He who does not love does not know God for God is love’. If love is not the centre of what we do, we do everything in vain.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 says, “If I speak in the tongues a of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith...

Day 8: The Pastor and Leaders, 9 January

Pastor and Departmental Leadership

Leaders of Integrity and Accountability

The friends that we chose to spend time with can considerably contribute to our character as people. If you hang out with gossipers, you will end up gossiping; if you hang out with criminals, there is a good chance you will be implicated one day. People will always have a yearning to belong somewhere and if we keep bad company, we will end up becoming of the same character as those we associate with.

The word of God in, 1Cor. 15:33 says, “33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Psalm 119:115 (NKJV)...

Day 7: Financial Stewardship, January 8

The financial worlds.

A. The Christian’s financial worlds; it’s a matter of choice

Every one of us, you and me as individuals or us as families have a financial world which we have to attend to, no matter how spiritual. Actually being spiritual does not deny the existence of the natural. Being spiritual help, you understand the natural better. 1 Cor 2:15 "But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one."

Just as we have a financial world in our individual capacities when we come together as a group called the church; now called the body of Christ, we creat...

Day 6: Serving God Wholeheartedly, 7 January

Serving God wholeheartedly requires us to pay attention to what we do in our everyday lives and how we behave when faced with situations that challenge us in life.

1. Pray for obedience to the voice of the Lord.

  • One of our challenges as Christians is listening to what God is saying now in our lives. This is why we sometimes miss walking in his promise. The children of Israel walked in God's promise for as long as they obeyed his instruction. Whenever they disobeyed God they found themselves into trouble. You can not serve God wholeheartedly unless if you are willing to be obedient to hi...

Day 5 : Spiritual Growth, 6 January

Day 5: Spiritual Growth, 6 January

It is God’s design for believers to mature Hebrews 6 v 1 “Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death and of faith in God.”

We are told to deepen our walk and pursue God.

We are to forsake the things that hinder us from God and run the course laid out for us.

God’s will is that you never stop growing. Apostle Paul wrote many books, he knew the Lord, but he longed for a deeper, more intimate relationship with God Phil 3 v 7-14.

Even Jesus, the si...

Day 4 : Teaching on Expressing Yourself Before God, 6 January

Bible Readings

Luke 22:44: And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

Exodus 17:11: As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.

The two scriptures above show that physically expressing ourselves before God is an essential aspect of our prayer life. In the first reading, Jesus himself prayed until he was sweating, which means he was not just standing still but vigorously moving his body in prayer. In the second reading, M...

Day 2:Spiritual Warfare, 3 January

1. The battle is spiritual

  • It’s important to understand the nature of the battle
  • 1 Samuel 17:45 "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty
  • David understood that it was not him vs Goliath

  • The believer does not fight in the flesh
  • Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.
  • The devil can use people who you don’t expect
  • Matthew 16:23 Je...

Day 1: Develop a strong relationship with God, 02 January

1. Sin affects your relationship with God

  • Sin hinders our fellowship with God
  • 1 John 1:6 If we say, "We have fellowship with him," and yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practising the truth.
  • When a Christian sins, they remain a child of God but out fellowship, like the prodigal son.
  • Being out  of fellowship takes away your peace and joy until the fellowship is restored
  • Sin blocks our prayers
  • Isaiah 59:1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have...
